Listen: Drake feat. Majid Jordan, “Hold On We’re Going Home”

At this point, I think Drake is just doing whatever he wants, and that’s not a bad thing.  His newest single, “Hold On We’re Going Home”, literally sounds like it could be placed in the ending credits of an 80’s date movie.  Unveiled this morning on New York’s Power 105.1, the track incorporates enticing synths that combine with Drake’s emotional crooning to form a product that’s arguably never been heard from Drake before.  While “Hold On” will definitely polarize Drake’s straight-up rap fans, the title Nothing Was The Same is supposed to be indicative of the newer direction he is taking.  And regardless of how you feel about him, let’s not act like this song isn’t instantly catchy.  Nothing Was The Same is out on September 17.
