Listen: London Grammar, “Feelings”

As a group, London Grammar has already garnered a reputation for making excellent but serious, heart-wrenching music. Hannah Reid’s voice is nothing short of spectacular, and it’s hard to not be reminded of Florence Welch whenever she starts to sing. Reid defines the band’s sound, but as melancholy as London Grammar’s music usually is, “Feelings” is actually the most fun and free-flowing track they have offered yet. While it doesn’t lack a certain nostalgic poignancy, the hand percussion and subtle guitar sets a nice pace for a song that ultimately seems optimistic. Their debut album If You Wait is set to release on September 9, further contributing to the belief that next month may just be the best month for an already monster year in music. (via P&P)
