In a relatively brief amount of time, Marika Hackman has become known for her minimal, spellbinding variation of folk, and her newest song only furthers that reputation. TItled “Drown”, the beautiful track is lifted by a soft guitar line and muted percussions, as Hackman’s tender voice wraps itself around the instrumental as gently as possible.
“So I’ll drown in your mind/I will, I know I will,” croons Hackman, sounding otherworldly against an understated backdrop. Her debut album, We Slept At Last, is due out on February 16, 2015. (via P&P)
