In my humble, albeit meaningless, opinion, “Fu*kwithmeyouknowigotit” was one of the few gems on
the cash grab, Jay’s uneventful summer blockbuster Magna Carta. Further exploring their million dollar chemistry, Hov and Ricky Rozay decided to unveil “The Devil is a Lie”, a track with a grandiose instrumental so ferocious, the Forbes poster-boys’ really didn’t have to do much in the way of lyrics and the streets would have been completely fine with it. Instead, Ross channels the Teflon Don for some of his more inspired luxury raps and Hov sounds motivated in a way that’s both refreshing, but more importantly encouraging. Maybe the elder statesmen have something left in the tank after all.
