Tala Other People's Poetry

Much like on her gorgeous debut EP, Tala beautifully melds a clear middle-eastern influence with an electronically-tinged, hip-hop inspired sound on “Other People’s Poetry”. Over a 45-minute period, the London-based songstress incorporates a variety of songs into her mix that include the melancholy rapping of Drake on “Days In The East”, and the new age R&B of Shlomo & Jeremih with “No More”. The heartfelt vocals of Taku’s “I Miss You” seamlessly coalesce with frenetic songs like M.I.A.’s “Matarangi” and smooth rap cuts like Action Bronson’s “Bird On A Wire”, as Tala subtly inserts a couple of excellent tracks of her own. So just press play, and check out Tala’s The Duchess EP if you’ve yet to do so.
