Watch A Mini-Documentary On Top Dawg Entertainment

When one thinks of TDE, it’s hard not to think about four of the most talented rappers currently in the game.  Twenty-six-year-old Kendrick Lamar has been rapping since he was 16, but only recently with the success of good kid, m.A.A.d city has he vaulted into superstardom.  His affiliates ScHoolboy Q (26), Ab-Soul (26), and Jay Rock (27) all bring completely different styles and approaches to hip-hop, but all are arguably just as talented K-Dot. From the hard-hitting, drug-dealing lyrics of Q, to Ab-Soul’s trippy psychedelic flow, and Jay Rock’s OG gangster tales, it’s easy to get whatever you want out of rap from “The Black Hippy Crew”.  And when all four are on a track together, lord help us all.  While traveling on the GKMC Tour, Jay Z’s “Life+Times” captured and documented what it’s been like for each member of TDE.  Each of them explains how they came to meet one another and what they ultimately want to achieve in music. The sixteen-minute video is without a doubt worth your time.
